Stage Prop: Cannon Carriage

How can you have a toy soldier and no cannon? Well Harbor Dance Studio bought a plastic cannon for their performance of "The Nutcracker" but needed a carriage to wheel it around on stage.  Being a soldier myself and knowing how important a carriage is for a cannon we got to work right away. Rolling wood and blowing wood chips all over the shop. This is what we came up with! The Customer wanted to paint the product themselves. This carriage is able to collapse for easy storage.

About our customer:

The Design:

Design phase

Made several styles and sizes to see what works the best. This is the top pick that was moved over to the build team.

The Build:

Here you can see all the craziness that goes into a project. What a fun project this was to build.  We were able to use a tool I don't get to use very often, a wood lathe. Check out the video.

Completed Project:

Boom! There it is after the customer did an AMAZING paint job. I can't wait to see it on stage this year!
